ELGARD

Created by a God that has no love or feeling for them. As a result they are a dispassionate species. A caste society with each serving a purpose. Genetically modified warriors (strong, agile and loyal), workers and slaves, and lastly the intelligent hierarchy.

The home-world they live on is a harsh planet deliberately corrupted to be so to help further increase the toughness and durability of the Elgard. Everything on their planet is designed to kill them, from the fauna to the flora. The empathy has been removed from this species. To be weak is to die. They do not toy, torture or fool around with their enemies; they just kill them.

Appearance: So lets face it…the image originally drawn is so stereotypically bad its laughable. So dont be too inspired by what you see here unless I have marked it with an approved concept. I’m keen to see your fresh ideas.

ELGARD VERSION ONE: The warriors - physically strong and imposing, 6-7 feet tall, tough skin, sharp teeth and some might even grow a thick mane of hair. In battle they wear armour depending upon their role on the battlefield. So some would be more heavily armoured then others. There would also be a combat space-suit equivalent. Armed with an assortment of simple but highly efficient close combat weapons and guns depending upon what they are fighting.

ELGARD VERSION TWO: Slaves /cannon fodder. Bred to do the menial tasks the Elgard nation feels is beneath them. Even a slave from another species is rated higher in value then these Elgards. Lean in appearance, what they lack in strength and toughness they make up with speed. In battle they receive no weapons or armour but instead are equipped with a small device on their chest and herded towards the enemy. In a fury they charge forward, the kinetic energy harnessed from their sprinting is transferred into the device which projects a shield giving them some form of protection until they hit the enemies defensive battlelines. In the meantime the rest of the Elgard army advances behind.

ELGARD VERSION THREE: The leaders/commanders. Smarter with a more standard physical build. They tend more to wear robes and civilized clothing. Even their armour in battle has a more ceremonially feel to it. Their worth to the Elgard empire is their intelligence, craftiness and strategic minds.

We are looking for an iconic villain race. Try not to be stereotypical. We do NOT want Orks for example!

IMPORTANT. Their face is the key. It must be able to convey emotion, intelligence, ferociousness, and…eventually in the story…compassion.
